Web and Digital Interaction Designer
Omar holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Advanced Studies (ITESM) and has more than 18 years of experience in the development and production of interactive audiovisual experiences.
In 2008 he was appointed Deputy Director of the Multimedia Center of CONACULTA’s National Center for the Arts, which is considered the most important space for art and technology creation in Mexico and Latin America. He coordinated the production of pioneering projects in the use of technologies including augmented reality, advanced web platforms and virtual spaces.
As senior designer he produced the app “Let’s go! Bernard Plossu in Mexico” for the exhibition of the same name presented at the Museum of Modern Art of INBA, nominated as one of the best applications of the year by The App Date Awards in 2015.
He has carried out digital design and content projects for exhibitions in different museums, including: “Under the Mexican Sky: Gabriel Figueroa – Art and Film” (2013) at the LACMA Museum in Los Angeles and “The Murmur of the Faces: Paul Strand in Mexico” (2016) at the Museo Amparo in the city of Puebla. He recently developed the interactive experience “Pemex: Your Story is Our History”, to commemorate 78 years of oil development in Mexico.
He has worked with Museográfica since 2006 on various digital content projects, including web projects with innovative technology, content platforms for social networks, production of geolocation projects, augmented reality and special interactives.
