About the project
The Nubian Museum was created thanks in part to the joint efforts of the United Nations, UNESCO, and the Egyptian Antiquities Organization. The project for the museum was conceived with the purpose of preserving and showing the collection in such a way that it was integrated to the landscape and the current context, maintaining the local traditions.
The design for the museum was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2001.
